Poetry by Abisola Kusimo

Abisola Kusimo (Abísọla Ikuṣimọ in Yorùbá) is a Nigerian-American slam poet veteran, competing in dozens of local and national competitions. She has represented Stanford at the national collegiate semi-finals, and that year was the fourth ranked collegiate slam poet in the country. Offstage, Abisola is a mechanical engineering doctoral student at Stanford University studying two industrial art schools an ocean apart. In her free time, she adds words that are not misspelled to her computer’s dictionary.
